European stock markets opened with broad-based losses on Friday, as ongoing tensions in Ukraine and worries about slowing economic growth in China hampered the investing mood. The Stoxx Europe 600 index lost 0.5% to 323.02, setting it on track for a 3% loss on the week. Most stocks were mired in the red, with drug makers and mining firms adding the most pressure on the pan-European benchmark.
