European stocks opened higher Friday, tracking advances made overnight in Asia before the release of the closely watched U.S. monthly jobs report later in the day. The Stoxx Europe 600 rose 0.3% to 338.09, on pace for its ninth win in a row, with shares of spirits maker Remy Cointreau SA climbing 5.5%. Also up were shares of Renault SA and Fiat SpA by 1.8% and 1.5%, respectively, following ratings upgrades to buy from neutral at UBS for the auto makers. The U.K.'s FTSE 100 rose 0.3% to 6,671.02, with EasyJet PLC up 1.1% after March traffic figures from the carrier. Germany's DAX 30 rose 0.2% to 4,458.18, and France's CAC 40 tacked on 0.2% to 4,458.74.
