Kajaria Ceramics today reported 36.85 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs. 42.11 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2013-14.
The company had posted consolidated net profit of Rs. 30.77 crore for the January-March quarter of 2012-13. Kajaria Ceramics' Q4 net sales rose to Rs. 523.9 crore, up 19.77 per cent, from Rs. 437.41 crore the year-ago period, the company said in a BSE filing.
Its overall expenses stood at Rs. 452.23 crore in the January-March quarter, compared with Rs. 379.8 crore in the same period a year ago.
Kajaria Ceramics scrip was trading at Rs. 465.50 in the afternoon trade, up 0.03 per cent, on the BSE.
Kajaria said its Board of Directors has approved raising stake in Jaxx Vitrified Pvt Ltd to 61 per cent. The company holds 51 per cent stake at present.
It has also decided to acquire 51 per cent stake in Taurus Tiles Pvt Ltd in Morbi (Gujarat) by subscribing to the equity shares of the company.
"Taurus Tiles is in the process of setting up a plant having 5 MSM (million square meter) annual capacity of Polished Vitrified Tiles," the company said.
Kajaria Ceramics is also looking at putting up a green field facility in Rajasthan for production of 5 MSM annual capacity of vitrified tiles.
