Tata Motors on Friday reported a 33.8 per cent decline in total vehicle sales at 33,892 units last month.
The automaker had sold 51,160 vehicles in the same month last year.
Domestic passenger as well as commercial vehicle sales were at 30,670 units in April, as compared to 47,595 units a year earlier - a 35.6 per cent decline.
In the passenger category, it sold 5,653 units of Nano, Indica and Indigo cars and 1,788 units of Sumo, Safari, Aria and Venture vehicles, the company said in a statement.
In the commercial vehicles segment, domestic sales dropped 35.5 per cent to 23,229 units from 36,025 units in April last year.
The automaker had sold 51,160 vehicles in the same month last year.
